Healthy Non-Biodegradable Waste Disposal Methods-waste incineration plant

Garbage is perhaps one of the most persistent environmental issues of the modern-day civilization. Every day tons of wastes are accumulated and the volume of waste is increasing very exponentially every yearly. As a result, some of these wastes end up in wrong places such as drains, canals or shorelines making them not unpleasant not only for the eyes but also injurious to the health and the environment. The Overproduction and improper management of waste products has led to increased garbage pollution. As more and more wastes are produced every day, properly disposing of them has becomes a grave problem.

The modern day wastes are of basically of two categories I.e biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. In simple words Bio-degradable waste are the byproducts which comprises of various kinds of natural stuff which release products back to the nature. Biodegradable wastes are organic or decaying substances which are normally used for agricultural purposes. This usually includes, paper, animal wastes, and plant or animal decays. Farmers use a technique called composting where all organic wastes are put together in a container or pit and are allowed to decompose for a while. The byproduct is the used as fertilizers.

Biodegradable wastes turn into Compost; a superior quality fertilizer. On the contrary Non-Biodegradable waste does not decay or are of little use to the nature. The non-biodegradable wastes are those substances that do not decompose over time and remain as such in the environment. They are very persistent and cause various kinds of health and environmental problems.

Non-biodegradable waste make up about one-third of the solid waste produced all over the world. Proper disposal of Non-biodegradable substances is very important for an eco-friendly lifestyle. While the use of non-biodegradable materials has been a long debated issue we cannot completely do away with the use of such materials but with proper waste management we can certainly decrease its ill effects on the environment

Five modes of non-biodegradable waste disposal are:

Incineration – It is the process of burning of waste. Wastes that are not safe to dispose like medical or toxic wastes are burned in very high temperature and transformed into ashes.

Sewage Treatment – It includes extracting the hazardous non bio degradable substances from the waste material from drains.

Landfill – The waste material is simply dumped under the ground however this leads to soil pollution. Landfills provide long-term storage for non-biodegradable waste. Usually, landfills are carefully situated to prevent contamination from entering the surrounding soil and water, and managed to reduce the unpleasant odor or pests.

Recycling – The non-biodegradable wastes safe enough are treated and some value materials are extracted for reuse by the process of recycling. Recycling is basically the process conversion of waste material into identical or other kind of usable item. Recycling non-biodegradable wastes greatly reduces the volume of hazardous waste that are usually deposited in landfills or burned in incinerator plants apart from saving the amount of virgin materials that must be manufactured or mined to make new products, saving considerable amount of energy and putting stain on the nature in the process.
